The Irobot Roomba 560 is an amazing piece of technology, I love it. You have to be realistic when looking at this robotic vacuum though, it’s great but not perfect yet. I actually bought one for my aging parents. It’s cheaper than a house keeper and keeps my mother, who is a neat freak, in her own home for longer. What this vacuum does is keep the house tidier with less effort, so that the amount of work required to maintain a tidy house is much less.

Roomba 560 As A House Keeper
The Irobot Roomba 560 is the cheapest live in house-keeper I’ve been able to find and she doesn’t eat anything but dirt and dust. The Roomba 560 switches on with the press of a button or it can be easily scheduled to run at particular times of the day. The battery will generally support a 2 hour cleaning session, but that’s fine. When the Roomba’s battery is getting low it takes it’s self back to it’s docking station to recharge. I find that one 2 hour cleaning session is adequate to clean 3 average rooms really well. The IRobot 560 is also a lot quieter than a regular vacuum cleaner, it’s not silent but considering how well it cleans it’s a good trade off.
The Irobot Roomba 560 sweeps and vacuums for a very thorough clean. It has spinning side brushes for cleaning along walls and reaching into corners. It also has 2 high speed counter rotating brushes that pick up the loose debris from the floor including pet hair, crumbs, cat litter etc. All the rubbish collected is sucked up into a large dust bin which is very easy to empty. Some people have complained that the bin needs to be emptied too regularly, I think this is a good sign. As you use the robot more often you will notice your floors becoming cleaner and emptying the dust bin becomes less frequent. This robotic vacuum cleaner also features a fine filtration system to avoid the release of dust, pollens and allergens back in to the air.
Smart Enough For All Floor Types
The Roomba vacuuming robot does a good job on all floor surfaces, it’s head automatically adjusts from tiles, floor boards, lino to carpet and rugs. It has anti tangle technology to stop it from sucking up cords and things like rug tassels by reversing the direction of the brushes when it senses it’s encounter with something like this. The Roomba 560 has a gentle touch bumper sensor, this means that when the robot senses an obstacle it will slow down it’s approach before gently touching the obstacle and redirecting itself. The robot vacuum also senses dirtier areas of floor and spends more time cleaning those areas. With it’s extremely low profile the vacuum gets under beds and furniture with ease and it really does get to all those places that you can’t get to with an upright vacuum.

When looking at a robotic vacuum the first thing to understand is that it still requires some human input, you’ll need to empty the dust bin and clean the brushes from time to time. Thinking that this robot will do everything on it’s own will leave you very disappointed. There are hundreds of reviews of this product on Amazon alone and the majority rate it 5 stars. I can’t help but feel that those that have given it negative reviews have had unrealistic expectations. When you way up the excellent cleaning job it does with the amount of time it saves you from doing it all yourself, I personally find this to be an excellent product.
